Dear Friends.

The movement against nuclear weapons and for world peace is now widely spreading over in Japan. Japanese Consumers' Co-operative Union is a central organization of consumers' co-operatives pursuing peace and better living. It is actively promoting peace movement everyday. It has held the "exhibition against war and atomic bomb" at 1,500 places all through the country since 1981 devoting itself to increase local people's voice for peace.

Enclosed please find picture postcards, which we printed to make worldwidely known the actuality of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and Nagasaki on August 9. Enclosed please find picture postcards, which we printed to make worldwidely known the actuality of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and Nagasaki on August 9.

We send these postcards to friends of co-operatives in the world and those who love peace. We believe that, by doing so, international opinion will surely be stirred up for a total ban of nuclear weapons. At the same time, as one of the actions demanding elimination of nuclear weapons, the picture cards will also be sent to the governments in possession of them.

The picture cards are widely made use of in Japan, too. They are of great use for the movement not to make Hibakusha again, in the present increasing danger of nuclear war.

It is hoped that you will send these picture cards to your friends, as well as hold "mini exhibitions against atomic bomb" by pinuping these cards on the wall.

We send the picture cards to you, wishing your great contribution for peace.

Fraternally yours,
